As you read this edition of Monday Morning Ann-Sense, I will be sitting on a beach on the Outer Banks, North Carolina taking a mini-vacation. The photo to the left isn’t of the Outer Banks, but of Rehoboth, Delaware… which I think is the best beach on the East Coast. (Sorry OBX fans, but I’m consider myself a Delawarean and love the Delaware beaches.)
Going to the beach usually requires a swimsuit. I’m not alone when I say this, but I’m not fond of wearing one. That got me thinking about issues important to me. Body image of girls is a hot topic of me. I thought I’d share some articles I came across this week on that topic.
‘We have a moral obligation to ban the airbrush’: Debenhams vows not to retouch model shots… and calls on others to follow suit – I hope this is a growing trend with retailers.
A queen’s message to girls: More than tiaras and cupcakes – Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah of Jordan shares her thoughts on and for girls. I applaud her.
If you are going on holiday soon then my next newspaper column is the best summer reads for PR and marketing professionals. Until next week…
