I’ve a got to admit this, but I haven’t read a darn thing this week. Really. I’m pretty sure my tribes on Triberr as well as my RSS reader is busting with some good reads. I had a good reason though.
I traveled to Delaware for the Delaware Press Association’s annual awards dinner. I accepted two awards for my work. My newspaper column won first place in the Writing Columns – Informational category. The entry will now go onto the National Federation of Presswomen’s Communications Contest. And this blog won second place in the Web and Social Media Blogs – Personal. I’m pleased at my peers appreciate my work.
I’m speaking that National Federation of Presswomen’s National Conference in August in Salt Lake City, UT on crisis communications. And it would be icing on the cake if my entry would place in the contest. So fingers crossed!
While I was in my home state of Delaware for business reasons, I did get the opportunity to enjoy some downtime at the beach. The Delaware beaches are my happy place. Love it there so when given any opportunity to go to Delaware, I make a beeline for the beach. I flew a kite for the first time ever. Always wanted to, but never got around to trying it. Glad I did. It was fun.
Promise next week, I’ll have caught up with my reading. Perhaps I’ll be out of the beach mindset…
